Background Information

Dr. Cooper-Newland smilingThe specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery requires a minimum of four years of additional hospital-based training in surgery and anesthesiology following graduation from dental school. Dr. Deborah Cooper-Newland completed both her dental and oral and maxillofacial surgery training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, School of Dentistry. Dr. Cooper-Newland established her practice of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Bellaire, Texas in 1997.

As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Cooper-Newland is trained to manage a wide variety of problems related to the mouth, teeth, and facial structures. Her areas of expertise include removal of wisdom teeth, endodontic surgery, dental implant surgery, pre-prosthetic surgery, orthodontic surgery, oral pathology and the treatment of traumatic injuries.

Dr. Cooper-Newland enjoys treating patients of all ages, but she has a special interest in children, adolescents and elderly patients. As a mother of three children, ranging in age from 10 to 21 years, Dr. Cooper-Newland is keenly aware of the concerns of her younger patients and their parents.

Office Staff

The surgical personnel who assist Dr. Cooper-Newland in her practice are highly trained, experienced individuals. They are certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants. All administrative personnel are highly-informed and well equipped to deal with issues related to medical and dental insurance. Each member of Dr. Cooper-Newland’s office is CPR, ACLS, and PALS certified.
